Believing that a prerequisite for a sustained and happy sobriety is service to others, Anew Foundation recipients take an active role in helping those new to recovery. Their help can take many forms, from sponsoring newly recovering people, sharing experiences or simply listening. Only after giving freely of themselves do they often realize what others have done for them and can begin to live productive and valued lives.
